Empowering guidance that inspires trust in the power of nature for better health.
Irma Schutte’s journey to becoming one of South Africa’s leading natural health advocates began unexpectedly. A wife and mother, Irma found herself managing a dairy farm and raising five children. In 1982 a personal health crisis, caused by a botched thyroid surgery, led her to explore natural healing, starting with a vegetarian diet and herbal remedies. Her health slowly improved, sparking a deep curiosity in natural health. This passion led her to open Food for Thought, a health shop in Hillcrest, in 1988, where she introduced others to natural remedies. In 1991, during a pivotal visit to Switzerland, Irma met Alfred Vogel, the founder of A.Vogel AG. When asked about his greatest achievement, Vogel shared his wish for his legacy: “That I could teach a few people that nature is good.” Inspired by this, Irma returned to South Africa with a renewed sense of purpose, determined to teach others that there is another way to approach health. In 2002, she and her family acquired A.Vogel South Africa, and despite many challenges, they rebuilt the business by focusing on educating people about the power of natural healing.
Irma Schutte was driven by a vision to raise awareness about the benefits of natural health remedies. Many people still rely solely on conventional medicine, unaware of the powerful alternatives’ nature can offer. Irma dedicated herself to educating the public and health industry, providing access to natural products, and highlighting their ability to support the body’s natural healing process. Today, her legacy lives on through SA Natural Products, which continues to improve the lives of South Africans by providing high-quality, scientifically backed natural remedies that empower people to take control of their health and make informed, holistic choices.
